Changes to the Permitting Process during COVID 19
Due to our Town Hall’s closure to the public and in accordance with social distancing measures, Kenneth City’s Building Department is requiring all applicants to utilize email, phone, and a secured drop box, located at the entrance of Kenneth City Town Hall (6000 54th Ave N, Kenneth City, FL 33709), for all permits and/or building department matters. During this time, please understand that there may be delayed response and permit review times.
Note: The Building Department is still maintaining its current hours of 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, Mon. – Fri.
Permit applications can be found on our website kennethcityfl.org, or can be requested through email by contacting email@example.com. For any questions about permits or permit submittal/status/etc. please call the Building Department at 727-498-8953 or contact the department by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Permits must be submitted by email, mail, or drop box. PLEASE NOTE: Permit’s that require signed and sealed drawings cannot be emailed, they will need to be submitted, along with their supporting documents, to the drop box outside of Kenneth City Town Hall or mailed to the Kenneth City Building Department (6000 54th Ave N, Kenneth City, FL 33709, ATTN Building Department). For questions regarding what permits require such drawings, please contact the Building Department by phone or email. All electronic plans will be reviewed as received. Please be advised that there will be a 72-hour sterilization period for any paper plans submitted and electronic plans will be reviewed as received.

The Building Department ensures that all new buildings and renovations meet applicable building codes and local Kenneth City ordinances. Plans are reviewed by experts in different fields before any building permit is issued. Construction sites are inspected regularly during the building process, and a thorough inspection is made before a Certificate of Occupancy is granted.
The Town's Building Department is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, and can be reached at (727) 498-8953.
Requests for inspections for the next business day must be made via telephone the prior business day, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The cut-off time for all inspections to occur on the following day is 12:30 p.m., no exceptions. For example, in order for an inspection to occur on Wednesday, the request must be received by Building Department staff no later than 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
