Internal Affairs

The Police Department always appreciates the opportunity to receive feedback from our stakeholders. Feedback may come in the form of a compliment or a concern. All feedback is handled in the same professional manner. Compliments, including commendations, are forwarded to the employee’s supervisor and are also shared with the employee, and are documented.

Concerns are always viewed as an opportunity to resolve conflict or reflect upon how we are performing. The information is evaluated by a supervisor and may also be reviewed with the Chief of Police.

Internal Affairs investigations are ordered by the Chief of Police and assigned to an Internal Affairs Investigator who is trained in this specific field of investigation. The Internal Affairs Investigator conducts interviews, takes sworn statements, collects and evaluates evidence, completes research and conducts interviews with all parties involved gathering pertinent information in a timely and professional manner.

All investigations are in compliance with Florida State Statutes. It is the Agency’s responsibility to be thorough, accurate, and detailed.
