Reserve Program

Our Department consists of a progressive community oriented team of law enforcement professionals who are always seeking to identify those individuals who are innovative and passionate about volunteering their time to the agency and serving our community. Reserve Officers must be Certified Florida Police Officers and meet all the statutory requirements governed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Our department has two categories of Reserve Officer.

• Reserve Officer 1 must successfully complete a minimum of 80 hours of training and will ride with another officer at all times.
• Reserve Officer 2 must successfully complete the standard 640 hours of field training and may act in a solo status.

All Reserve Officers must volunteer 10 hour per month towards the depart-ment assisting in any function. Our Reserve Officers assist in training, main-taining equipment and educating our full time staff in a variety of different disciplines. Reserve Officers assist at events and special details.
