Administrative Assistant

Our Senior Administrative Assistant provides support functions to the Department and actively works to identify ways and means of providing enhanced services that translate to improved customer and community service. The Senior Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Chief of Police, coordinating and handling matters which are placed in the Office of the Chief to include scheduling meetings, phone calls and tracking appoint-ments and events.

Our Senior Administrative Assistant supervises our Records section and public records functions. This Assistant is responsible for on-boarding new employees according to FDLE rules and regulations, constructing and main-taining personnel files, and ensures that all employees have been provided with the necessary tools to com-plete their assigned tasks. Ongoing sworn personnel responsibilities include entering, tracking and maintaining officers within the ATMS system, updating mandatory firearms qualifications and mandatory retraining hours, providing the annual Salary Incentive report, and applying for General and High Liability Instructorships.

Payroll is completed every 2 weeks for all employees of the department. The Assistant collates and organizes all payroll-related information, which is then reported for processing. The Assistant also handles administrative related questions and inquiries which are brought to the Office of the Chief to include assisting with the yearly construction of the department budget, tracking expenditures, and processing requisitions, purchase orders and invoices.
