Community Policing
The Kenneth City Police Department has developed a comprehensive community based policing philosophy which has been implemented throughout our organization.
Our Community Policing unit is supervised by Sergeant Kevin Matson. The Officer assigned to this position is Officer Josue Beltran.
This section fills the primary role for community policing in our town. This team is responsible for increasing our interaction with our customers by deploying the use of a police Polaris ranger side by side and bicycle for proactive neighborhood patrols and contacts.
They plan and coordinated many crime prevention and educational programs and events to foster a stronger partnership between our residents, business owners, local leadership groups, schools representatives, church leaders, and other local organizations.
Some of the many events include “Coffee with a Cop”, “Walk with a Cop”, “Shop with a Cop”, “National Night Out”, “Halloween treat trail”, “National Walk to School Day”, Casting with a Cop and "Biking with Badges" and many monthly neighborhood watch partnerships. They work consistently with our customers utilizing resources from both the public and private organizations to identify and resolve concerns which affect the quality of life in our town.
The close alliance forged with the community is not limited to an isolated incident or series of incidents, nor confined to a specific time frame; their relationship between the police department and the community is enduring and balanced.
Together, they play a vital role in our community matching people with resources, providing direction and following up to assure success.
They plan and participate in special programs which bring assistance to those who are in need of holiday meal, donated funds or gifts for those children who are less fortunate at Christmas, or utilizing residents who volunteer their own equipment and labor to help fellow residents with maintaining their homes and property.
Our Community Policing Team is commitment to our core values of knowledge, compassion, professionalism, and dedication and continue to aid in our success. They bring real meaning to the words in our mission statement “Provide proactive and innovative law enforcement services to our community through a partnership which consists of trust, understanding, and collective results”.
